Corona Virus Scare: ZFF stops shaking hands during matches
The Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) has stopped players from shaking hands during matches.
In a circular signed by ZFF’s Secretary, Hussen Ahmada Vuai he asked players to stop shaking hands as a health precaution. The directive comes after the spread of the deadly Corona Virus (COVID -19) across the world.
“ZFF has stopped players and officials from the greeting process by shaking hands before and after finishing the match,” said the communication.
The communication stated that the order will take effect in all Zanzibar Premier League games and the regional ones in Pemba and Unguja.
Vuai said the development comes after advice given by the health authorities as a precaution against the deadly Corona virus.
In some countries like Italy football Leagues have been suspended a result of the Corona virus, while in the Moroccan League matches will be played without fans.
Meanwhile, in a 2019/2020 Zanzibar Premier League game played on Tuesday Mlandege FC defeated Selem View FC 1-0. Mlandege remained in fourth place with 38 points from 18 games played.
