Mlandege FC maintain lead in Zanzibar Premier League

The 2019/2020 Zanzibar Premier League resumed on July 1st with Mlandege Football Club showing they are more than hungry to take trophy.

Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) halted the League in March after the emergence of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which has caused havoc around the whole world.

But after consultation with the government and putting several protection measures in place, the Premier League resumed.

After four games played Mlandege FC lead the log with 53 points from 23 games played. Mlandege FC defeated Zimamoto FC 1-0 on July 1st before picking a hard fought 3-2 victory against Malindi FC four days later. They against went on to stop JKU FC 1-0 before a 1-1 draw against Mafunzo FC.

Second placed Zimamoto FC have also enjoyed good form since the League resumed with wins over Jang’gombe Boys FC, Jamhuri FC and Machomane FC.

On Friday fourth placed JKU FC humbled KVZ FC 3-0. Action returns on Saturday with two matches on card as Machomane FC face Jamhuri FC and Polisi take on Kipanga FC.
