Cecafa President Karia to contest for FIFA Council seat
The President of the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa), Wallace Karia has announced that he will contest to become a FIFA Council member.
“The executive committee has unanimously approved TFF President Wallace Karia to run for FIFA delegation to two English-speaking countries,” said a TFF communication dated September 21st.
The elections will take place on March 12th in Rabat. Morocco during the elective Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The same Assembly will elect the CAF President and Executive members.
Wallace who because TFF President in 2017 was also voted Cecafa President last December in Kampala, Uganda.
The countries that candidates from English speaking are eligible to come to stand for the Fifa Council include; Botswana, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
