Mlandege to face Tunisia’s Sfaxien in CAF Champions League

Zanzibar Premier League champions Mlandege FC have been drawn to face a Tunisian side in the preliminary round of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League.

Mlandege will face Club Sportif Sfaxien according to the draws conducted today at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

The preliminary round of the CAF Champions League matches are expected to be played between November 27-29th for the first leg and the second leg between December 4-6th.

Club Sportif Sfaxien, the Tunisian champions play at their Stade Tareb Mhiri in Sfax. They reached the CAf Champions League final in 2006 and lost to Al Ahly from Egypt.

According to the draw the winner between Mlandege and Club Sportif Sfaxien will face the winner between Zambia’s Buffalo FC and MC Algers (Algeria) in the second round.

The Tanzania Premier League champions Simba SC were also drawn against Plateau United, while Sudan side Al Hilal take on Uganda’s Vipers SC. Rwanda’s APR will also battle against Gor Mahia (Kenya) among the other teams in the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) region.
