Zimamoto FC go top of Zanzibar Premier League

Zimamoto Football Club have gone top of the 2020/2021 Zanzibar Premier League after securing one point in the 1-1 draw against Mafunzo FC yesterday.

Juma James gave Zimamoto the lead after 23 minutes, before Jaku Joma levelled matters six minutes later at the Mau Tse Tung Stadium.

The draw send Zimamoto to 4 points after they kick started the season with a convincing 2-0 win against KMKM SC. Mafunzo also moved to second place with 4 points, but with a lower goal difference than Zimamoto.

In the second game played on Wednesday KMKM SC defeated JKU 3-1 in game played at the Amaan Stadium.

Anthony Matheo gave KMKM FC the lead after 25 minutes before Ahmed Ishaka got his name on the score sheet 10 minutes to half time.

In the second half Suleiman James increased KMKM’s lead, before Saleh Said pulled one back for JKU. Action will return on Friday when newly promoted Black Sailors face Chuoni FC at the Mau Tse Tung Stadium.
