CECAFA U-20 CHALLENGE CUP: Zanzibar battle Tanzania

Zanzibar will battle their brothers from Tanzania this afternoon in the last Group B match at the on-going Cecafa U-20 Challenge Cup at the Fufa Technical Center in Njeru.

Fresh from a morale boosting 2-1 win over Ethiopia, coach Nasor Sawn Mohamad’s team will have to be at their best against a well balanced Tanzanian team.

But before the game Zanzibar’s team will keep their fingers crossed hoping Kenya can beat Ethiopia so that the second game will simply be a formality.

“We are going to play our hearts out because we want to improve in any game that we play,” said coach Nasor Sawn Mohamad.

Zanzibar currently third on the log started with a 5-0 loss to Kenya before they fought back to defeat Ethiopia. But the Zanzibar coach is happy that his players are getting the opportunity to play play at international level.

“This is a good opportunity for the players because they are getting exposed,” added the coach.

In-case Zanzibar finish in Third place in the group they will face Eritrea who topped Group A in Gulu District.

The regional Cecafa U-20 Challenge Cup that has attracted 11 teams will climax with the finals on October 5th. The tournament is sponsored by FIFA.
