Zanzibar to face South Sudan in Cecafa Senior Women’s Challenge Cup
The Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) has released the fixtures for the Cecafa Senior Women’s Challenge Cup.
Tanzania will host the regional tournament from November 14-23 at the Chamanzi Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Zanzibar has been placed in Group A along side South Sudan, Burundi and defending champions Tanzania.
In the fixtures released by the Cecafa Secretary General, Nicholas Musonye on Thursday, Zanzibar will open their campaign against Burundi on November 14th before facing South Sudan two days later. They will take on Tanzania in the last group game on November 18th.
“The top two teams from each of the two groups will qualify for the semi finals to be played on November 21st,” added Musonye.
Group B has Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti. The other Cecafa members Rwanda, Sudan Somalia and Eritrea did not register their teams for the regional tournament.
