Muhsin Al Rajab on duty in CAF Confederation Cup
Zanzibar’s Muhsin Al Rajab was on duty when Uganda’s Proline FC hosted Al Nasr SC (Libya) in the return leg of the Total CAF Confederation Cup play-off round on Sunday.
Al Rajab was the match commissioner in a game which was handled by referees from Sudan at the StarTimes Stadium in Kampala.
The Libyan team made history by beating Proline FC 2-0 to qualify for the group stage on a 4-2 goal aggregate.
Khalid Almaryami gave the visitors the lead after 5 minutes before Osama Albedwi Ibrahiem made it 2-0 after 62 minutes. The Proline FC team tried to fight back, but Al Nasr SC defended in numbers.
“I am happy that besides the political instability going on in our country we have managed to qualify for the group stage,” said Al Nasr SC coach Mohamed Elkikli after the match.
Proline FC coach Matia Lule said his team failed to play well. “The early goal we conceded was the biggest problem. But we also failed to take our chances,” added Lule.
Zanzibar’s Malindi was also ejected in the CAF Confederation Cup by Egypt’s Al Masry last month.
