Zanzibar Premier League: JKU hand Zimamoto first defeat
Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi Sports Club(JKU) handed Zimamoto SC their first defeat in a 2019/2020 Zanzibar Premier League on Sunday.
JKU SC emerged victorious after a 3-1 win in a match played at the Mao Tse Tung Stadium.
Hassan Haji gave Zimamoto the lead after 16 minutes before Suwed Juma made it 1-1 after 12 minutes.
The two teams came all out in the second half but missed several scoring opportunities. Nassor Mattar made it 2-1 after 88 minutes before Shehuu Magaj netted the third for JKU after 89 minutes.
The win keeps JKU in third place with 18 points behind Zimamoto who have 19 points and KMKM who lead the log with 20 points.
Machomane FC also moved from 15th place to 11th after their 1-0 win over Kipanga FC on Sunday in a game played at the Gombani Stadium. Salim Abdallah netted the lone goal after 60 minutes.
In the third game played on Sunday Jang’Ombe Boys picked a 2-0 win against struggling Malindi SCF at the Amaan Stadium. Abdulnaim Mabrouk and Khalfan Abdallah scored for Jang’Ombe Boys who are now sixth on the log with 13 points.
Action in the league returns on November 7th with Chipukizi facing Mwenge FC, while Mufunzo taking on Zimamoto SC.
