Cecafa to elect new President in Kampala
The Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa) will hold it’s General Assembly in Kampala on December 18th.
Nicholas Musonye, the Cecafa Secretary General said on Wednesday that the Assembly will take place a day before the climax of the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.
“We shall use the newly adopted statues for Zones as recommended by CAF,” added Musonye in Dar es Salaam where the Cecafa Senior Women’s Challenge Cup is taking place.
The new Statute allows for the President, two Vice Presidents and three Committee members to be elected.
Sudanese Mutasim Gafaar’s term as Cecafa President will end later this month. Abdigaani Arab Said, the President of the Somalia Football Association has been serving as the Vice President.
Some of the members of the out-going committee include; Aimable Habimana (Burundi), Wallace Karia (Tanzania) and Doris Petra (Kenya).
