CECAFA 2020 season to open with Kagame Club Championship
The Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) 2020 calendar will open with the Kagame Club Championship.
Nicholas Musonye, the CECAFA Secretary General confirmed that the Kagame Club Championship will be hosted by Tanzania in June.
“During our CECAFA meeting with the new executive in Hurgahda, Egypt this month before the CAF Awards we decided that the Kagame Club Championship opens the season,” added Musonye.
He said the other eight tournaments to take place in the year will be allocated dates by the Organising Committee of Vice Presidents from Federations.
The others tournaments will see the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup and the Zonal qualifiers for AFCON U-20 head to Sudan, while Djibouti hosts the CECAFA U-16 Boys Challenge Cup.
Rwanda will host the Zonal qualifiers for the AFCON U-17, while Burundi host the CECAFA U-20 Challenge Cup and the CECAFA U-17 Women’s Challenge Cup.
Uganda will host the inaugural CECAFA U-20 Women’s Challenge Cup, while Rwanda will also host the CECAFA Women’s Challenge Cup.
