ZFF awaits League sponsorship deal with People’s Bank of Zanzibar
The Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF), Seif Kombo Pandu has said concluding a partnership with the People’s Bank of Zanzibar will help the local Premiership League develop better.
Pandu made it clear that they have been in talks with the People’s Bank of Zanzibar over supporting the Zanzibar Premier League.
The People’s Bank of Zanzibar is wholly owned by the government of Zanzibar. The bank was founded in 1966 by the government of Zanzibar. It functions as a retail bank, serving individuals, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and large corporate clients.
“We are optimistic that the Bank will finally come in to support football in the country and their input will come a long way in developing local talent,” added Pandu.
The ZFF President made it clear that they have been struggling because they lack resources to keep developing football further. “We are trying to attract as many private companies a s possible to come and support football,” he added.
Currently the 2019/2020 Zanzibar Premier League attracts 16 Clubs with KMKM SC, JKU FC and Zimamoto FC looking as the top contenders for the title.
