CAF President Ahmad happy with launch of 4-year Women’s Football strategy
President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad has welcomed the new dawn after a women’s football strategy was launched yesterday.
The strategy with a slogan #ItsTimeItsNow will initially run on a 4-year (2020-2023) period.
“The launch of the CAF Women’s Football Strategy is in line with our commitment to give hope to the youth across the continent and to develop women’s football at all levels. It sets out a clear roadmap for specific actions which will revolutionize women’s football,” said the CAF President.
Ahmad thanked all key stakeholders and experts who took part in putting together the strategic document, which is the beginning of many things to come.
The new strategy is built on five main priorities namely Development, Competitions, Marketing & Promotion, Professionalization & Leadership and Social impact.
“The strategy is a follow up on the CAF Women’s Football Symposium in 2018. We have now established strategies and drawn up a road map which we believe will enhance the development of women’s football on the continent,” said Isha Johansen, the Chairperson of Organising Committee for Women’s Football said she is very happy with the development.
