CAF sets registration dates for 2020/2021 Interclub competitions
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has re-adjusted new calendar for the 2020/2021.
After adjusting the schedule for the Total CAF Champions League and Total CAF Confederations Cup semi-finals and finals for the 2019/2020 season that are yet to be completed, the African football body was made to make more adjustments to the 2020/2021 schedule.
In a CAF Executive Committee meeting held via video-conference on Thursday, a decision was reached that the first registration of Clubs for the interclub competition will take place between October 21st to November 10th.
The 2nd round registration period will run between November 11-30, while the preliminary round matches will take place November 27-29th for the first leg and December 4-6 for the second legs.
CAF made it clear that the 2nd preliminary round will see the first leg played December 22-23, while the second leg will take place between January 5-6th, 2021.
Newly crowned Premier League Champions Mlandege SC will represent Zanzibar in the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League, while KVZ FC battle in the CAF Confederations Cup.
It was also announced that the CAF Ordinary Assembly will take place in December 11th in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. But because of the health issues due to the safety restrictions Tanzania will be a backup option.
The CAF elective General Assembly has been slated for March 12th in Rabat, Morocco. The opening of reception of candidates starts today September 11th and closes on November 12th.
