Mlandege FC fall 2-0 against Young Africans in build-up tie

Zanzibar Premier League champions Mlandege FC lost 2-0 against Young Africans SC in an international friendly match played last night at the Azam Chamazi Complex in Dar es salaam.

New signing Waziri Junior made it 1-0 after 40 minutes when he converted a penalty before Mukoko Tonombe scored the second goal in the 57th minute.

Although Mlandege FC were forced to play a more defensive approach, they showed good team work. The Zanzibar champions created a few chances but failed to make use of them.

Mlandege FC used the game to prepare ahead of the 2020/2021 Zanzibar Premier League and the CAF Champions League.

Zlatko Krmpotic, the new Young Africans SC coach praised Mlandege for their good display. “This match has been a good test for us as we prepare for our next League game against Kagera Sugar FC,” added the coach.
