Mlandege FC set for Sfaxien test in CAF Champions League

The head coach of Zanzibar Premier League reigning champions Mlandege FC, Abdul Mutik Haji ‘Kiduu’ has said they are well prepared ahead of the preliminary first leg match in the Total CAF Champions League this weekend.

Mlandege FC will host Tunisian giants Club Sportif Sfaxien at the Amaan Stadium on Saturday.

“We need to make sure we take our chances at home because we are playing against an experienced team. But we are preparing well and the players are responding well,” added the Mlandege coach.

The coach said the many friendly games they have played in the last two months have helped them shape up well. “We know it will be a tough encounter, but the players know what to expect,” added the coach.

Mlandege FC prepared well last weekend ahead of the Total CAF Champions League match with a 3-0 victory against new comers Hard Rock FC in Zanzibar Premier League.

The Club Sportif Sfaxien team is expected to arrive in Zanzibar on Thursday ahead of the match on Saturday. The second leg will be played in Tunisia between December 4-6th at the Stade Tareb Mhiri in Sfax.

According to the Total CAF Champions League draw, the winner between Mlandege and Club Sportif Sfaxien will face the winner between Zambia’s Buffalo FC and MC Algers (Algeria) in the second round.
