Taifa Stars coach invites Feisal Salum, Aggrey Morris to prepare for 2021 CHAN
Zanzibar players Feisal Salum Abdalla and Aggrey Morris have been invited on the taifa Stars squad to prepare for the 2021 Total Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).
The CHAN tournament specifically for home based players featuring in local home Leagues will take place January 16th to February 7th in Cameroon.
The Taifa Stars team is expected to start training on January 1st in Dar es Salaam ahead of two friendly games against DR Congo before they travel to Cameroon for the tournament.
Cliford Mario Ndimbo, the Media and Communications Officer of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) said Taifa Stars will play two friendly games against DR Congo between January 10-14th.
Besides the two Zanzibar players who feature for the national team during the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, head coach Etienne Ndayiragije has also invited senior players like John Bocco, Shomari Kapombe and goalkeeper Aishi Manula.
Tanzania will battle against Zambia, Guinea and Namibia in Group D of the CHAN tournament. Taifa Stars ejected Kenya to qualify for the CHAN tournament which was initially meant to be played in 2020, but was postponed due to the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
