CAF yet to clear Zanzibar’s New Generations FC
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is yet to clear Zanzibar’s New Generations FC ahead of the Zonal CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
Kenya is meant to host the Zonal qualifiers July 17 to August 1st
Auka Gacheo, the CECAFA Executive Director told Zanzibarfa.com that CAF is yet to clear the Zanzibar team. “We are still waiting for clearance from CAF for New Generations FC to be able to play in the qualifiers,” said Auka.
New generations FC is however among the teams that have been licensed as per the CAF rules. The other teams licensed include; PVP FC (Burundi), FAD Club (Djibouti), Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (Ethiopia), Vihiga Queens FC (Kenya), Scandinavia WFC (Rwanda), Yei Join Stars (South Sudan), Simba Queens FC (Tanzania) and Lady Doves FC.
Eritrea’s Denden FC and Sudan’s Aldeefa Khartoum are likely to miss out of the qualifiers after their Member Associations failed to beat the deadline for club licensing.
