KMKM fall to Express in CECAFA Kagame Cup semi final
Zanzibar Premier League champions, KMKM Sc have suffered a 2-1 defeat to Express Fc in the first semi final of the CECAFA Kagame Cup played on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Ibrahim Abdallah Hamad gave KMKM SC the lead with a well taken free kick at the stroke of half time at the Azam Complex, Chamazi.
But the Ugandan side fought back to score after Muzamiru Mutyaba after 56 minutes and a penalty converted by Eric Kambale during added time.
“The boys played well. It was just the mistake that caused the late penalty that we conceded,” said KMKM SC head coach Ali Vuai Shein after the match.
KMKM SC will now wait to play the playoff for third and fourth after the second semi final betweem Azam FC and guest side Nyaza Big Bullets FC (Malawi) is played tomorrow.
