Libya’s Al-Ittihad arrives today ahead of KMKM match
The Libya Premier League champions Al-Ittihad are expected to jet-in today ahead of a preliminary first round first leg tie of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League against hosts KMKM SC.
KMKM SC will host the Libyan side at the Amani Stadium on September 11th.
The Zanzibar Premier League champions are boosting with motivation after finishing third in the regional 2021 Kagame CECAFA Club Championship held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania last month.
KMKM SC will look to players like Salum Akida Shukuru, Mohamed Said Mohamed, Samier Yahya Said and Mwinyi Haji Mgwali to carry the team in this first leg.
Al-Ittihad were crowned Libya Premier League champions last month after stopping Al-Ahly Tripoli 6-5 in penalty kicks in the final played at the Tripoli International Stadium on Friday.
Al-Attihad who have now won 17 Libya Premier League titles will look to some of their star players like Muhammad Al-Munir, Moaz Issa, Ghazi Al-Ayadi and Abdul-Ati Al-Absi in the game against KMKM.
On Sunday another Zanzibar side Mafunzo SC will host Angola’s GD Interclube in the preliminary first leg first round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
