KMKM, Mafunzo exit 2021/2022 CAF competitions

Zanzibar’s KMKM SC and Mafunzo SC have exited the 2021/2022 CAF Competitions.

The Zanzibar Premier League reigning champions KMKM SC lost 2-0 away to Al-Attihad (Libya) yesterday in a first round preliminary round return leg match played in Sfax, Tunisia.

Youssef Kara scored in the 53rd minute before Mohamed Zaabia converted a 71st minute penalty. The Libyan team qualified on a 4-0 goal aggregate.

In the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, Mafunzo SC who chartered a flight to Angola and had their match postponed by 24 hours lost 3-0 to InterClube.

After winning 1-0 away in Zanzibar in the first leg, the Angola team qualified for the second round of the preliminary round on a 4-0 goal aggregate.

Tanzania’s Young Africans SC also exited the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League after falling 1-0 away to Rivers United (Nigeria) and bowed out on a 2-0 goal aggregate.

Tanzania’s two team in the TotalEnergies CAf Confederation Cup, Azam FC and Biashara United Mara qualified to the second preliminary round.
