CECAFA confirms dates for U-20 Women’s Championship in Uganda
The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) has confirmed that the U-20 Women’s Championship will be hosted by Uganda.
Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director has communicated to the Member Associations that Uganda is ready to host the event from November 28th to November 10th.
“Following the meeting held in Dar es salaam on the sidelines of the CECAFA Kagame Cup competition on August 13th, 2021, it was resolved that all Mas apart from Sudan and Somalia will participate in the Championship,” said Gecheo.
The CECAFA Executive Director said the draw for the tournament will be held on October 18th by zoom.
In another communication by the hosts, Edgar Watson Ssubi, the CEO of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has asked member countries that will participate to confirm their arrival schedules to enable the hosts plan well.
This year CECAFA has already organized the CECAFA U-23 Championhip in Ethiopia, Kagame Cup in Tanzania and the zonal qualifier for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Kenya.
