CECAFA Assembly in Cairo to discuss 2022 calendar
The 2022 calendar will be one of the issues on the agenda when CECAFA holds it’s General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt on November 25th.
Auka Geceho, the CECAFA Executive Director confirmed that they will hold an assembly on the sidelines of the Extra Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
“This is a good opportunity for all CECAFA members to meet and discuss several issues that will help football develop further in our region,” added Gecheo.
He made it clear that they will discuss the 2022 calendar and also administrative issues among other things.
This year CECAFA has so far managed to organize four tournaments. Ethiopia hosted the CECAFA U-20 Men’s Championship, before the Kagame Club Championship took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The inaugural Zonal qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League took place in Kenya, while Uganda hosted the CECAFA Women’s U-20 Championship.
Zanzibar has only participated in two CECAFA tournaments this season.
President of the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF), Abdul-Latif Ali Yassin is also expected to attend the CECAFA General Assembly as well as the CAF Extra Ordinary General Assembly on November 26th.
