Tanzania’s assistant referee Komba selected for AFCON 2021
Tanzania’s assistant referee Frank John Komba has been selected to officiate at the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021.
Cameroon will host the AFCON 2021 January 9th to February 6th.
Besides Komba, the other assistant referees selected from the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) include; Gilbert Cheriyot (Kenya), Liban Abdourazak Ahmed (Djibouti) and Sudan’s Ibrahim Abdalla Mohammed. Uganda’s Dick Okello was withdrawn.
Burundi’s Pacifique Ndabihawenimana, Salima Mukansanga (Rwanda), Bamlak Tessema (Ethiopia) and Kenya’s Peter Wameru Kamaku are from the CECAFA region are among the referees selected.
The 24 teams that will feature in the AFCON 2021 include; Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Cape Verde, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Malawi, Morocco, Ghana, Comoros, Gabon, Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan, Guinea Bissau, Algeria, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania and Gambia.
