Mlandege stand in Simba’s way in Mapinduzi Cup 2021

NBC Tanzania Premier League giants Simba SC will face a tough tash when they battle Mlandege SC this evening in a Group C match of the on-going Mapinduzi Cup 2021.

Simba SC kick started their campaign with a 1-0 win against another Zanzibar team Selem View FC on Wednesday.

While Simba SC will be comfortable with a draw, Mlandege who drew goalless against Selem View in their opening match will need to win to book a place in the semi finals.

But before Simba take to the pitch at the Amani Stadium, defending champions Young Africans SC will take on KMKM in another match that promises to be a thriller.

While the two teams each have three point, Young Africans have a better goal difference and any draw will see them seal a place in the knock out stage.

In Group A matches played on Thursday Meli 4 City beat Yosso Boys FC, while Azam FC stopped Namungo FC 1-0. Hussein Mwinyi, Said Omar and Ali Mmanga netted for the Meli 4 City team to register their only win in the tournament.

Azam FC who have also booked a place in the semi final scored through Kenneth Muguna after 67 minutes.

The last group game between Azam FC and Yosso Boys FC will be played on Saturday before the semi finals on January 10th. The final will be played on January 13th.
