Al Ahly Tripoli defeat KMKM SC
Visiting Al Ahly Tripoli picked a 2-0 away win against KMKM SC in the first leg of the preliminary round of the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League
The Libyan side scored in each half at the Amani Stadium on Saturday to take an advantage ahead of the return leg in Benghazi.
Al Ahly Tripoli started the match with intent attacking in numbers, but KMKM SC absorbed the pressure well. Yasini Mohamed Ngaza had his shot saved by the Al Ahly Tripoli goalkeeper after 38 minutes.
After 41 minutes the referee awarded a penalty after KMKM SC’s Mwinyi Haji Mingwali made a poor tackle on a Al Ahly Tripoli player in the box. Mohsine Moutaouali made no mistake from the sport.
In the second half the KMKM SC coach Hemed Suleiman Ali made some changes, but the team still failed to score. The high attacking Ahl Ahly Tripoli team increased their lead after 66 minutes with a well taken Abdalla Imhamed goal.
“We tried to play better football in the second half and should have got some goals. We now have to prepare better ahead of the return leg in Libya,” said KMKM SC coach Hemed Suleiman Ali.
Today another Zanzibar Premier League side Kipanga FC will face South Sudan’s Al Hilal FC Wau in the first leg of the preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup. The match will be played in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
